About Us – Zagreb Forum2014

On behalf of the City of Zagreb, Development Agency Zagreb and GFS Institute, we are glad to invite you to take a part in the 1st international conference ZAGREB FORUM 2013 – CREATIVE Cities and EUROPE, that will be held in Zagreb (Croatia) on the 12th and 13th of March, 2013.

Within global competition, cities need to win investors and create more and better jobs. The exploitation of creative industries, which have high, but often unrecognised potentials, contributes to the fulfillment of the Lisbon objectives on local levels.

By organizing this major international conference, the City of Zagreb aims to bring its cultural policy one step further, addressing the challenges faced by other EU cities. This event will bring together experts from the fields of triple helix “university, industry, government”, focusing on the exchange of experience in the field of open innovation in creative industries.

The Conference will also provide networking opportunities for those promoting Creative City initiatives locally and internationally. The event will serve as a platform for economic collaboration and the development of innovative and best practices. It will focus on the local economic effect of the creative industries as well as promotion of closer connection between creative cities.

I am confident that the project Zagreb Forum 2013 − Creative Cities and Europe will successfully present to Croatian and European public all developmental potentials of the City of Zagreb, soon one of the capitals of the European Union. Therefore, I sincerely wish you success in organizing this conference and fulfillment of its objectives. President of the Republic of Croatia Dr. Ivo Josipović

Predsjednik Republike Hrvatske dr.sc. Ivo Josipović
